| The Symposium aims to present state-of-the-art in brain-and-heart science doing by friends. Brain science friends : Prof. Milena Penkowa (33) (Panum Institute, Copenhagen University, Denmark) delivered a plenary lecture on pleiotropic effects of metallotioneins as potential noBel drug targets for autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases. Other brain science friend, Dr Martin Pedersen (a PhD student of Dr Penkowa), presented his peptidomics data of FGF in neuroprotection. Heart science friends : Drs George Chaldakov, Anton Tonchev, Peter Ghenev and Ivan Stankulov (Division of Cell Biology, Medical University of Varna) delivered a lecture on “Adipobiology of cardiovascular disease”. |
